Energy consumption in buildings is very significant throughout Europe. In terms of both construction solutions and systems and equipment, measures can be taken with a very positive impact in consumption. In this context, the European Union has implemented Directives concerning the energy performance of buildings (EPBD) aiming the improvement of its efficiency. These directives are subsequently transposed across member states, through laws and regulations implemented at national level. This thesis analyzes the application of portuguese regulation (RCCTE) and spanish regulation (CET) for the case of a building located in the same geographical area, comparing the assumptions, calculation procedures and results. By the results obtained it is concluded against limit/reference values, shows roughly a higher requirement of CTE compared to RCCTE and in the first case the values obtained more significantly approximate their limits/reference.
