O mundo aos olhos das crianças: diferenças culturais

Abstract

O presente Relatório Final de Prática de Ensino Supervisionada II (PES II) foi realizado num Jardim-de-Infância do Agrupamento do Monte da Ola, concelho de Viana do Castelo. Este relatório encontra-se dividido em três partes para facilitar o entendimento dos procedimentos realizados durante o estudo, sendo a primeira a caraterização do meio geográfico e económico, do jardim-de-infância bem como o grupo de crianças onde decorreu a PES II. Na segunda parte, é apresentado o estudo focalizado na seguinte questão: “É possível, com crianças de 4, 5 e 6 anos, identificar diferenças culturais de países de diferentes continentes e simultaneamente promover aprendizagens sobre essas culturas?”. Para este efeito delinearam-se objetivos para dar resposta à questão colocada. Este estudo suporta-se numa metodologia qualitativa, centrado no estudo de caso e para tal recorreu a diferentes instrumentos de recolha de dados tais como a observação naturalista e a análise de documentos. No estudo participaram 18 crianças com idades compreendidas entre os 4, 5 e 6 anos de idade. Os resultados do estudo revelam que as crianças já possuíam alguns conhecimentos e ideias prévias acerca das culturas analisadas demonstrando a pertinência da abordagem desta temática no contexto pré-escolar. Revelaram, ainda, diferentes tipos de envolvimento das crianças de 5 e 6 anos relativamente às crianças de 4 e algumas de 5 anos. Foi notório que as atividades que envolveram uma componente lúdica se revelaram como promotoras de aprendizagens nas crianças. Apesar da identificação dos continentes e suas características poderem apresentar-se numa primeira fase como de algumas dificuldades de aprendizagem por parte das crianças, os resultados do estudo dão indícios que as crianças revelaram níveis de aprendizagem satisfatórios. Por fim na terceira parte deste relatório elaborou-se uma reflexão final sobre toda a PES.

This Final Report of Supervised Teaching Practice II (PES II) was conducted in a Kindergarten Agrupamento do Monte da Ola, in Viana do Castelo. The structure of this report is divided into three parts to facilitate the understanding of the procedures performed during the study, starting with the characterization of the geographic and economic environment, the kindergarten and the group of children ensued ESP II. In the second part, the study is focused on the question presented: "Is it possible, with children with 4, 5 and 6 years, identify cultural differences in countries of different continents and simultaneously promote learning about these cultures?”. For this purpose were outlined goals to give an answer to the question. This study supports a qualitative methodology, focusing on the case study and for that appealed to different data collection instruments such as naturalistic observation and document analysis. Eighteen children aged 4, 5 and 6 years old participated in the study. The results of the study show that children have already had some prior knowledge and ideas about the cultures analyzed demonstrating the relevance of this approach in preschool thematic context. They also revealed different types of involvement of children with 5 and 6 years old relatively to children with 4 and some with 5 years old. It was clear that the activities surrounding a playful component were revealed as promoters of learning in children. Although the identification of the continents and their characteristics can present themselves initially as some learning difficulties by children, the study results provide evidence that children revealed satisfactory levels of learning. Finally, in the third part of this report was prepared a final reflection on the entire PES.
