dc.description.abstract | The main objective of this thesis is the analysis and economic comparison of different kinds of one floor industrial steel pavilions and the identification of which geometric parameters can be more adequate for more economical solutions in the future. For the parameters economic influence evaluation we selected the width of the pavilion, the spacing between the frames and the type of construction. Was also evaluated the influence of the length of the apex haunch in the deflection of the rafter, where the results suggest that only for the pavilion width of twenty meters or less, the length of the apex haunch is very favourable when greater than ten percent of the length of a shed. In a first phase is presented the calculation of the actions considered in the design and it is also presented the combinations of actions used in this dissertation. In a second phase with the help of a computer program (Autodesk Robot Structural Analysis), is performed the modelling of the different pavilions, and the achieved results with the program application, were validated with a manual with verification of the main results using the expressions indicated in the Norm NP EN 1993-1 -1. In this same phase the influence or not of the second-order effects was also analysed, and as will be showed it is possible to concluded the second-order effects have reduced significance in the calculation of industrial steel pavilions. In a third phase is performed the economic comparison between the different solutions designed, and the main results will be presented. Based on the achieved results, suggestions for more adequate choices between pavilions with treating trusses and portal frames will be made. | por |
