Estratégias de desenvolvimento da linguagem visual da criança do primeiro ciclo

Abstract

Estratégias de Desenvolvimento da Linguagem Visual da Criança do Primeiro Ciclo tem como finalidade testar algumas estratégias e actividades de Expressão Plástica ao nível do 1º ciclo, utilizando o modelo Inglês. Após a análise comparativa entre currículos de Expressão Plástica em Portugal e Inglaterra e a análise de teorias e práticas nacionais e internacionais ao nível da Educação Artística, esta investigação pretende verificar os efeitos da implementação de uma experiência curricular que teve lugar na Escola E.B. 1 de Moledo do Minho, Norte de Portugal. O problema desta investigação problematiza a realidade de muitos professores generalistas em termos de formação artística e da sua falta de confiança para leccionar a Expressão Plástica e consequentemente a privação das crianças de tal experiência de aprendizagem, condenando-as a contactar com a Educação Artística apenas no 2º ciclo do Ensino Básico. Metodologicamente este estudo assenta num estudo qualitativo sob a forma de uma investigação – acção, envolvendo uma professora generalista e uma professora/investigadora especializada em Educação Visual. Os dados recolhidos através de instrumentos diversos, tais como a observação, diário de campo, conversas informais, fotografia e entrevistas foram analisados e permitiram mostrar que as crianças ficaram motivadas com as abordagens testadas nesta investigação – acção e também indicou como os aspectos testados favorecem os domínios artísticos apontados por Allison (1972), deveriam ser promovidos nas abordagens curriculares de forma sistemática. Todo este processo levou a concluir numa reformulação do currículo de Expressão Plástica que integre metodologias concretas que promova nos professores generalistas uma maior confiança na leccionação de tal saber.

The purpose of The Strategies for the Development of Visual Language in Primary School Children is to test the strategies and activities of Artistic Expression at primary school level, using the English model. After a comparative analysis of the curriculum of Artistic Expression in Portugal and England and an analysis of theories and national and international practices, this research intends to confirm the effects of the implementation of a curricular experience carried out at Escola E.B.1 in Moledo do Minho, Northern Portugal. The problem that this research reveals is the reality that many generalist teachers, due to a lack of artistic training and confidence in teaching Artistic Expression, subsequently deprive children of this learning experience, consigning them to have contact with Artistic Education only 2nd cycle of basic education. Methodologically this study is based on a qualitative study in the form of an action research, involving a generalist teacher and a researcher/teacher who is a Visual Education specialist. The details gathered through diverse instruments such as observation, a field diary, informal conversations, photography and interviews were all analyzed. They showed that children were motivated by the approaches implemented in this action research. Also indicated were how the aspects tested favor the artistic areas put forward by Allison (1972) and should be promoted in a systematic manner when approaching the curriculum. The entire process lead to the conclusion that an overhaul of the Artistic Expression curriculum, to integrate concrete methodologies, would empower generalist teachers with a greater confidence to teach what they know.
