A música popular folclórica: estratégia de ensino aprendizagem na disciplina de educação musical

Abstract

A motivação para a realização desta pesquisa decorre da necessidade de diversificar estratégias na abordagem da música tradicional na sala de aula e da dificuldade que os alunos sentem em se identificar com este género de música. Na presente investigação pretendeu-se verificar a importância que os alunos e Professores que leccionam Educação Musical no Agrupamento de Escolas Gonçalo Sampaio, na Póvoa de Lanhoso, atribuem à Música tradicional nomeadamente o folclore. Se no passado a música popular portuguesa foi considerada como algo de muito importante ao nível da nossa identidade e raízes, havendo quem dedicasse parte da sua vida à recolha e selecção de canções populares, actualmente esta assume-se como um bem cultural e social que devemos preservar e incentivar. Como ponto de partida, é feita uma certa evolução histórica da disciplina de Educação Musical, abordando a forma como tem funcionado a Educação Artística em Portugal, nomeadamente a Educação Musical, por essa razão são feitas algumas considerações sobre as funções e implicações sociais da música folclórica, assim como a referência a pedagogos que defendem o uso da música tradicional de cada país. Trata-se de um estudo de caso, baseado numa metodologia mista, através do qual foram realizadas entrevistas semi-estruturadas aos docentes de Educação Musical e um questionário a quatro turmas do 5º ano (n=91) e quatro de 7º (n=83). Dos resultados obtidos, destacaremos alguns aspectos que pela sua pertinência, contribuem para um melhor entendimento da pesquisa.

The motivation for this research derives from the need to diversify strategies in the approach to traditional music in the classroom and from the difficulty students feel to identify themselves with this kind of music. In the present investigation we intended to verify the importance that students and teachers who teach Musical Education at Agrupamento de Escolas Gonçalo Sampaio, in Póvoa de Lanhoso, attribute to traditional music such as folklore. If in the past the Portuguese popular music was regarded as something very important in terms of our identity and roots with those who dedicated part of their lives to the collection and selection of popular songs, nowadays this is assumed as a cultural and social good that we must preserve and encourage. As a starting point, it´s done a brief historical evolution of the subject of Musical Education, broaching the way how Arts Education has functioned in Portugal, in particular the Musical Education, therefore some considerations are made about the social functions and implications of folklore music, as well as the reference to pedagogues who advocate the use of traditional music of each country. It is a case study, based on a mixed methodology through which were made semi-structured interviews to teachers of Musical Education and a questionnaire to four classes of 5th grade (n=91) and four of 7th grade (n=83). From the results, we will accentuate some aspects that for its relevance contribute to a better understanding of the research.
