As habilidades de manipulação de objetos : um estudo de intervenção motora com crianças em idade pré-escolar

Abstract

O presente relatório foi elaborado no âmbito da unidade curricular de Prática de Ensino Supervisionada II (PES II) do curso de mestrado de Educação Pré-Escolar, da Escola Superior de Educação de Viana do Castelo. O estudo de intervenção foi desenvolvido num Jardim de Infância inserido num concelho pertencente a Viana do Castelo e visou melhorar o desempenho motor das crianças ao nível das habilidades manipulativas. Deste modo, delineou-se um estudo de natureza quantitativa, com os seguintes objetivos: i) avaliar e comparar o desempenho motor global das crianças ao nível das habilidades manipulativas, antes e após a intervenção; ii) avaliar e comparar o desempenho motor das crianças nas distintas habilidades manipulativas, antes e após a intervenção; iii) e verificar se existem diferenças de género no desempenho motor das habilidades manipulativas. Neste estudo participaram trinta e cinco crianças (vinte do sexo masculino e quinze do sexo feminino), com idades compreendidas entre os cinco e os seis anos. Para avaliar o desempenho motor das crianças foi utilizado o Test of Gross Motor Development 2 (Teste de Desenvolvimento Motor Global 2) - TGMD-2 (Ulrich, 2000), antes e após a intervenção. Globalmente, verificou-se uma melhoria no nível das habilidades manipulativas, após a implementação do programa de intervenção motora (9 sessões de motricidade infantil). Em todas as habilidades, o aumento foi estatisticamente significativo. Quanto ao género, os meninos obtiveram melhores resultados em ambos os momentos de avaliação. De referir que em ambos os sexos, as melhorias mais expressivas registaram-se no lançar por cima e o lançar por baixo. Uma menor evolução foi observada no pontapear e no agarrar. Em suma, este estudo reforça a importância da estimulação motora estruturada na idade pré-escolar no sentido das crianças alcançarem o nível maturo em todas as habilidades motoras fundamentais.

The present report was elaborated for the curricular unit of Supervised Teaching Practice II (STP II) of the Master’s degree in Preschool Education, at the higher School of Education of Viana do Castelo. This intervention study was developed on a kindergarten belonging on a counsel of Viana do Castelo, and his main point was to improve the children’s object control. Thus this, a quantitative study was performed, outlining the following primary objectives: i) evaluate and compare the global motor performance of children at the level of manipulative skills before and after the intervention; ii) evaluate and compare before and after the intervention the performance of children in the different object manupulation skills; iii) and check if there are gender differences in motor performance on manipulative skills. In this study participated thirty-five children (twenty males and fifteen females), with ages between five and six years. The test of Gross Motor Development 2- TGMD-2 (Ulrich, 2000) was applied before and after motor intervention in order to evaluate the manipulative skills. Generally, there was an improvement in the level of motor manipulative skills after implementation of the motor intervention program (9 sessions of child motor skills). In all skills, the increase was statistically significant. Regarding gender, boys did better in both time points. It is noted that both sexes showed the most significant improvement on overhand throw, and underhand roll. A smaller improve was observed in kick and catch. In summary, this study reinforces the importance of structured motor stimulation in pre-school children, in order children to reach the mature level on all fundamental motor skills.
