Conexões matemáticas através dos padrões : Uma abordagem globalizante no pré-escolar

Abstract

O Relatório Final de Prática de Ensino Supervisionada II está subdividido em três partes. A primeira parte do documento refere-se à caracterização do contexto educativo, na segunda descreve-se o estudo realizado no âmbito da Unidade Curricular de PES II e, na última parte, apresenta-se uma reflexão sobre a Prática de Ensino Supervisionada. O presente estudo tinha como principal objetivo compreender o contributo da exploração de padrões na aprendizagem em diferentes áreas e domínios do currículo, por crianças em idade pré-escolar. Com base neste problema foram formuladas as seguintes questões de investigação: (1) quais as potencialidades de tarefas desta natureza?; e (2) quais as dificuldades evidenciadas pelas crianças na resolução de tarefas desta natureza?. No âmbito deste estudo, optou-se por uma metodologia de natureza qualitativa, estruturada num estudo de caso, desenvolvido com o grupo de crianças do contexto da Prática de Ensino Supervisionada II. Este grupo era constituído por vinte e duas crianças, de cinco e seis anos de idade. Os dados foram recolhidos através de diferentes técnicas, nomeadamente: observação, entrevistas, gravações áudio/vídeo e documentos de natureza diversa. Foi construída uma sequência de quatro tarefas, tendo por base uma perspetiva integradora, associando a matemática, através da exploração de padrões, a outrasáreas/domínios do currículo. Ao analisar os dados foi possível verificar que as crianças, através deste tipo de tarefas, se sentem motivadas e desafiadas, descobrindo padrões em diferentes contextos. Estas tarefas permitiram realizar aprendizagens no domínio da Matemática, mas também na Expressão Plástica, na Linguagem Oral e Abordagem à Escrita, na Expressão Musical e na Área do Conhecimento do Mundo.

The Supervised Teaching Practice II Final Report is subdivided in three parts. The first part of the document relates to the characterization of the educational context, in the second one is described the study realized under the scope of PES II curricular unit, and in the last part is presented a reflection about the practice of the supervised teaching. This study has as main objective the understanding of the contribution of patterns’ exploration, in the learning process of different areas and fields of the curriculum, by children in pre-school age. According with this issue the following investigation questions have been formulated: (1) which are the potentialities from tasks of this nature? And (2) which are the difficulties evidenced from the children in the resolution of this tasks? In the scope of this investigation study, by a qualitative nature method, structured in a case study, the group of children was opted in the Supervised Teaching Practice II context. This group was composed by twenty-two children, of five and six years old. The data was collected from different techniques, namely: observation, interviews, audio/video recordings and documents of diverse nature. A sequence of four tasks has been developed, on an integrative perspective basis, combining mathematics, by the way of patterns’ exploration, with others areas/fields of the curriculum. Analyzing the data was possible to verify that the children, through this tasks, feel motivated and challenged, discovering patterns in different contexts. This tasks have enabled learnings in the Mathematical field, but also in Artistic Expression, Oral Language and Writing Approach, Musical Expression and in the Knowledge of the World Area.
