In a society that is increasingly globalized and facing constant environmental challenges, it is desirable that the curriculum that the students develop in school include themes that contribute to an effective environmental education. To implement this study, the qualitative method was used, based on the projects produced by the students, centered on the practices of Artistic Education. It was developed in the classes of 5th and 6th grade of schooling, at the Padre Cristiano Rodrigues School, school number 21 in São Vicente, with the participation of the teacher / researcher, the principal and three IUE trainee teachers. This project contextualizes both the pleasurable and spontaneous act that art provides a child, as well as the educational aspect, since, when observing and doing, a child can better develop several skills. According to the research that has been done, many authors such as Vygotsky, Kishimoto, Piaget, Freire and many others who directly or indirectly cite in their books the importance of playfulness in the daily life of a child, they also state the importance and effectiveness of art during the formal education of the child, because it is through art that a child can represent various social roles, which stimulates a greater perception of the world in which a child is embedded. Art is the way that children find to represent the context in which they are inserted, thus ensuring their communication and socialization. The findings of this research suggest that doing and learning are essential tools for the acquisition and mobilization of concepts and also a deeper knowledge of students about ways of preserving the environment. In the examination of the activities, it was observed that the students had a greater concern and responsibility regarding the environment, opening up, thus, a perspective of a behavioral change and through simple gestures contribute to a greater environmental sustainability. The tools used were: field notes, questionnaire, direct and indirect observation, interview, photographs, lesson plans and projects done by the students themselves. With the content analysis of data collection tools from different points of view, was done a triangulation in order to find convergent points and increase the credibility of the interpretations made. Finally, a discussion of findings, a reflective analysis and its final conclusion were made.
