aprenderem a pontuar?
This report was developed within the scope of the Supervised Teaching Practice course, inserted in the Master’s Degree in Pre-School and 1st Cycle of Basic Education, of the Higher Education School of the Polythecnic Institute of Viana do Castelo. Therefore, it integrates a characterization and reflection resulting from the contacts in each of the educational contexts attended, namely the Pre-School and 1st Cycle of Basic Education, being in latter where the research project highlighted here was developed. The choice of the topic to investigate was based on the difficulties in the using of the comma observed in a class of the fourth grade (n=19), along with the motivations of the researching teacher in valuing the teaching of ponctuation, to help overcome difficulties and seek answers to emerging doubts of a still little explored topic. Thus, the main purpose of this study was to understand how a pedagogical course focusing on metacognitive involvement activities helps students to better use the comma? This problem question originated from the answers obtained in the diagnostic evaluation as well as from the readings and studies carried out on the reference literature, in order to answer two research questions initially outlined: 1) What are the difficulties reflected in the use of commas in the written productions of students? and 2) How can the teacher contribute to the students learning to punctuate? Looking for a continuous and coherent line of work by the deconstruction of the problem under study, two new guiding questions of the investigative work were defined, namely: 3) What defines the activities implemented? and 4) What answers and improvments do the students show? Based on an interpretative paradigm, we opted for a qualitative researh methodology of an exploratory nature, giving priority to the collection of data through observations, audiovisual records (video and photography) and the participants' documents. In the data analysis a descriptive and interpretative narrative of the different learning situations was used. The results obtained reveal a greater understanding of the rules that define the correct use of the comma, as evidenced in the progressive and improved use of the respective punctuation mark in the different proposals implemented. It is understood, consequently, that the promotion of activities of metacognitive involvement based on contextualized, motivating and challenging work proposals contributes superbly to the construction of knowledge and the development of important progress in the students learning path. |
