Caracterização e composição de argamassa antigas

Abstract

A preservação e reabilitação de marcos históricos, são uma real necessidade na preservação da identidade histórica e cultural de um país. É um prenúncio claro, à importância no conhecimento das características das argamassas a utilizar no processo de recapacitação dos símbolos representativos da história de um povo. Para o sucesso do processo é necessário um conhecimento profundo das características dos materiais a intervencionar, para isso é necessário um estudo mais personalizado e menos generalizado, pois só assim é possível garantir a compatibilidade das argamassas de reabilitação aos suportes existentes nos locais a intervencionar. Para a elaboração desta investigação sobre argamassas antigas, foram necessárias pesquisas a nível bibliográfico, académico, de campo, bem como recolha de amostras, ensaios laboratoriais, análise e tratamento de resultados. A investigação consistiu na recolha e análise de amostras provenientes de duas localizações, sendo elas, A Gruta superior do Morgado e Ruínas de Conimbriga que posteriormente foram analisadas com o apoio infra-estrutural dos laboratórios da ESTG / IPVC. A composição das amostras, permitiu adquirir informação importante que permitirá futuramente seleccionar e/ou ajustar dosagens, quer no fabrico, quer na aplicação. Com o conhecimento da composição das amostras permite também evitar erradas aplicações de materiais que possam ter efeito inverso ao pretendido, promovendo assim a recuperação, total ou parcial, sempre que possível contrariando a deterioração da identidade cultural nacional.

The preservation and rehabilitation of historical landmarks are a real necessity in preserving the historical and cultural identity of a country. It is a clear warning of the importance of the knowledge of the characteristics of the mortars to in use on the process of reconstitution of the representative symbols of the history of the people. For the success of the process. It`s imperative a true knowledge of the characteristics of the materials to be intervened. For this, a more personalized and less general study is necessary, since this is the only way to guarantee the compatibility of the mortars to the existing supports in the places to be intervened. For the elaboration of this investigation, it was necessary bibliographical, field and academic research, as well as sample collection, laboratory tests, analysis and treatment of results. The research consisted of the collection and analysis of samples from two locations, The Upper cave of Morgado and Conimbriga Ruins, which were analysed with the support of ESTG / IPVC laboratories. The composition of the samples allowed acquiring important information that will allow selecting and / or adjusting dosages, in the manufacture and on application. With the knowledge of the composition of the samples, it`s also possible to avoid misapplication of materials that may have an inverse effect to the desired one, in order to promote the recovery, totally or partially, whenever possible, avoiding the deterioration of the national cultural identity.
