In the emergence of new sports modalities over the years, they arise and with them, the need to characterize their participants. Due to the scarce research on obstacle races the objective of this study is to gather data that characterizes physically and morphologically the participants of obstacle racing. The sample was made by 33 elements, being that they all train in gyms with specific classes of obstacles courses (Frequency: 3 practices a week). This sample was divided in 4 subgroups, Elite (n = 25) and non-Elite (n = 8), male (n = 27) and female (n = 6), being analyzed in 2 different articles. In order to analyse the morphological characteristics, data such as hight, weight, IMC, fat mass and age was collected. To analyse the functional characteristics, the tests used were: RAST, Cooper, T-Test, RM back squat, Pull up, throw of Medicinal ball, Squat Jump, Countermovement jump, Drop jump and Hand Grip. The results obtained indicate that on morphological level, the male group presents an IMC and Body Mass superior to those of the female, although these present a higher level of fat mass. In the comparison between competitive groups we found values of IMC superior in the Elite group and inferior in the remaining tests, comparatively to the non-Elite group. On a physical level, no significative differences were found between competitive groups, having the Elite group obtained better results in all tests, except the RAST test where it was slower that the non-Elite group. In comparing genders, some differences were found concerning functional characteristics, the male group presenting itself superior in tests of strength, power and agility. When it comes to fatigue management, women present more favourable values com a fatigue index lower than men. The men, on a functional level, proved to be more complete than women. In what concerns the competitive groups, the Elite group did not prove significantly stronger than the non-Elite group.
