The present report, developed within the framework of the Supervised Teaching Practice II, of the Master's degree in Teaching of the 1st and 2nd cycle of Basic Education in the area of History and Geography of Portugal fell on a class of 6th year. It is divided into three parts. The first refers to the framework of the study, the second part goes through the study carried out in the History and geography of Portugal area and the third part concludes with a reflection on the experience lived in Supervised Teaching Practice I and Supervised Teaching Practice II. The objective of the investigation was to make a comparative analysis of the vision of the Colonial War, also called the Overseas War, which consisted in the conflict between the Portuguese armed forces and the liberation movements of the former Portuguese colonies; and the War of Independence, which was the struggle for decolonization, to end the domination of the country and the search for self-determination. And to analyze how these visions are transmitted to the Portuguese students of the 6th year of schooling and the Mozambican students of the level of equivalent education. Based on the assumption that the view on the event in question is different, it was also sought to show how the textbooks, which reflect the positions assumed by historians of the two countries (Portugal and Mozambique), contribute to the ambivalence of perspectives that incorporates the teaching-learning process, particularly in the context of the disciplines of history or of HGP. In this context, it was intended to reflect on historical relativism and to look for strategies that could be implemented with a view to its application in the teaching of history and geography of Portugal. In order to carry out research, a qualitative methodology of an interpretative nature was used. The data collection focused on the participant observation, in the substructured interviews, applied to Portuguese students and Mozambicans, the family of the pupils, as well as to teachers and in the documentary research. The results show that students can understand and conceive their own ideas about historical moments. The provision of diverse material, access to documents, contact with stories told by family members, all this information provided to students facilitates and generates critical learning and reasoning in order to create their own opinion. The students presented a satisfactory performance, both in the accomplishment of the proposed activities and in the reasoning requested during the interviews.
