This report was carried out within the scope of the Supervised Teaching Practice (PES) of the Master's Degree in Pre-School Education and Teaching of the 1st Cycle of Basic Education (1st CBE), and was developed in a 1st CBE school, located in the county of Viana do Castelo. The study focused on the Mathematics’ area with a strong foundation of local heritage that is a Social Study’ content. It was carried out in a 4th grade class, composed with seventeen students, and all students were allowed to participate in this project. The main goal of this research was to understand how the learning of mathematics combined to elements of local heritage could influence students learning and their multiplicative reasoning. In this research, three questions were formulated: 1. How can local heritage promote mathematical learning?; 2. What attitudes reveal students in relation to tasks that involve multiplicative reasoning?; 3. Can local heritage help students to develop multiplicative reasoning? In face of the problem and the research questions, was design a study in the scope of the interpretative paradigm, following a qualitative methodology, and a case-study method. For data collection, we used methods such as participant observation, questionnaire surveys, student documents and audio and photographic records. In order to analyze the data collected, analysis categories were defined that allowed to evaluate the relation of the local heritage with the mathematics, more concretely with the multiplicative reasoning of the students. Based on the results it was possible to conclude that the local heritage effectively contributed to the mathematical learning, more concretely to the work of the multiplicative reasoning. The PES was without a doubt, a great experience, allowing the researcher to develop herself at personal and professional level, for the projects in which she was involved and also allowing herself to understand how it is possible to relate such vast contents.
