This report summarizes the pedagogical path developed during the intervention in the educational context in the academic year 2017/2018, highlighting the way we create didactic sequences for the different curricular areas, the developed pedagogical materials and our involvement in the educational communities. Thus, the framework of the two interventions is performed, one in the 1st CEB (which translates to Basic Education Cycle in English) and another in the 2nd CEB, as well as the presentation of the study carried out in the subject of History and Geography of Portugal, in the 6th year of schooling in the scope of the Development Education. As we understand the teacher's mission to be the need to train young people to respect Human Rights and solidarity among all peoples, we decided to focus our study on a very particular theme of Development and Global Citizenship Education: war refugees of Syria. Thus, starting from the formal education of the theme related to the construction of the European Union, we developed a study whose purpose was to understand what ideas 6th grade students have regarding the issue of acceptance or non-acceptance of Syrian refugees in Portugal. In this context, the research had the participation of 16 students and therefore we opted for a qualitative research paradigm, with some quantitative treatment. As data collection techniques we used direct observation (field notes being recorded in a logbook), questionnaire surveys and documentary analysis (documents produced by the students). The results obtained lead us to conclude that it is feasible to integrate Development Education in the learning of History and Geography of Portugal, in this case it was possible to articulate successfully the theme of acceptance of war refugees with the teaching of the European Union. In addition, the students demonstrated a positive evolution of their conceptions between the beginning and the end of the study, demonstrating progressively empathy for those who are in the situation of war refugee. We conclude this paper with a reflection on the path traced so far.
