Abstract: Este Relatório fez parte da unidade curricular Prática de Ensino Supervisionada II, do Mestrado de Educação Pré-Escolar e 1.º Ciclo do Ensino Básico.
This Report was part of the Supervised Teaching Practice II course, the Master’s Degree in Pre-School Education and the 1st Cycle of Basic Education. The present qualitative research study has the problem of discovering the contribution of dance to the development of 1st cycle students and the difficulty and evolution of the movements in their motor skills, in a dance choreography. In order to reflect on this problem and the imposed problem, some research questions were formulated: (1) What difficulties are encountered in the students during the teaching of choreography? (2) What motor skills are students capable of performing during the choreography learning period? (3) Are girls able to understand the choreography taught more quickly? (4) Are boys capable of greater evolution in the teaching-learning process? (5) The "worse or better" factor contributes to a better performance in choreography learning? In this research, 25 students participated, but 3 students, aged between six and seven, to be as the osposits goal this study, including to analyse to the evolution of the three sessions. Concerning the collection of data, we used: participant observation; the use of “feedbacks and timeline”, photographic and video records. The choreography taught and learned by the students proved to be a huge challenge for the students who collaborated positively on this one. Throughout the implementation it was verified that the students’ increased difficulties were shown in the execution of certain choreography steps and in some motor skills. Throughout the implementation it was verified that the increased difficulties of the students showed to be in the execution of of certain steps of the choreography, as a pirouette; slide to the right and left, and "kick lands open"; and in some motor skills. Through the results obtained from the charts and tables, it was possible to verify that the students were evolving with respect to their motor performance, overcoming the difficulties and analyzing to what extent the dance helped in the motor development of the students.
