Monumentos da Praia: um recurso pedagógico

Abstract

As tradições culturais que outrora eram passadas pela família e que estão entrando em esquecimento dado ao ritmo da vida presente e da constante modificação da sociedade, por motivo das transformações distintas, obriga a escola a reorganizar-se de forma positiva para transmitir a herança cultural que auxilia no desenvolvimento harmonioso e global do aluno. Em virtude disto, esta pesquisa tem como objetivo perceber se os monumentos, em especial os da Praia, têm sido objetos de estudo na área de EA e se detêm saberes que contribuirão para o ensino/aprendizagem, propondo inovação das estratégias e prática pedagógica. O trabalho está dividido em duas partes fundamentais. A primeira parte tem como propósito abordar questões pertinentes sobre a Educação Artística apresentando uma reflexão acerca da importância da mesma, bem como refletir sobre a relevância dos monumentos como Património que conta a história de um povo e que auxilia no desenvolvimento harmonioso, integral e educacional do ser humano. A segunda parte, apresenta alguns dos Monumentos da Praia e os dados referentes ao benefício em aproveitar essas ferramentas como recursos pedagógicos. Alicerçado no estudo de caso e de natureza mista, a investigação foi realizada para também explorar o interesse dos alunos e propor que se faça várias abordagens ao objeto de investigação, Monumentos da Praia: Um Recurso Pedagógico, com intuito de conhecer a evolução da cidade e colher instruções que permitem grandes descobertas tanto na EA como em outras áreas do ensino. Para que a pesquisa fosse efetivada recorreu-se aos seguintes instrumentos de recolha de dados: observação direta, questionários e entrevistas. A principal conclusão do estudo é que há interesse por parte dos alunos em entender a sua história através dos monumentos, que apresenta grande potencialidade como ferramenta pedagógica e um instrumento para melhor conhecer o passado. E, para isso, há que abrir mais espaço para exploração e conhecimento da história passada na capital cabo-verdiana, em diferentes vertentes.

Cultural traditions were once passed on by the family to the next generation without any fear of forgetting any values. Due to new way of living and the constant modification of society, where everything is going too fast, fruit of so many behavioural fluctuations, it has obliged the school to reorganize in a positive way its approach in teaching for the student’s holistic progress. As a result of the process above exposed, this research paper aims to understand if the historical monuments, mainly those in Praia town have been objects of study in the area of EA. Being part of the national symbols, they are supposed to be elements which should contribute to teaching/learning, pointing out to innovating strategies and pedagogical practice to Education development. The research is divided into two fundamental parts: the first one addresses pertinent questions about Artistic Education, presenting a reflection about the importance of this subject, as well as how it reflects on the relevance of the monuments mentioned above. As a matter of fact, they are heritage that tells the history of the people who lived far way back and they assist in the harmonious, integral and educational development of the human being. The second part of the research presents some of the Praia town Monuments and the data regarding to the benefit of using these tools as a pedagogical resource. Based on the case study and the mixed nature it enfolds, the research was also carried out to explore the interest of the students and propose several approaches to the object of research, of Praia town Monuments: a Pedagogical Resource, with the purpose of knowing the evolution of the Praia town and collect instructions that can allow great discoveries in terms of Artistic Education and other areas of teaching. In order to perform the research, the following data collection instruments were used: direct observation, questionnaires and interviews. The main conclusion of this research is the fact that students are highly interested in understanding their history through monuments, which discloses great potential as a pedagogical tool and an instrument to better know the past; with this idea in mind, more space for exploration and knowledge of past history will surely be open in the Capital town in different ways.
