dc.description.abstractO presente estudo tem como referência a análise da cerâmica da Ilha de São Vicente e demonstrar todos os processos operatória da sua produção, tendo como estudo de caso o figurado do artesão Jorge Soares. O problema do estudo alicerça-se na constatação da fraca valorização dos trabalhos artesanais no seio da sociedade cabo-verdiana provocada pela carência na divulgação e promoção das obras dos artesãos, que podem ser colmatados através de meios de transmissão de conhecimentos e valores nas comunidades escolares como é o caso da disciplina de Educação Artística. Na realização do estudo, recorreu-se a uma metodologia de natureza qualitativa, a partir da utilização do método Estudo de Caso, tendo como suporte para recolha e análise dos dados os instrumentos como a observação de campo, entrevistas e registos audiovisuais, no qual permitiram obter uma análise e avaliação mais pormenorizada sobre o figurado do artista em estudo. Os resultados desta investigação descrevem as ações do artesão em estudo durante o processo da confeção das peças da cerâmica, o seu percurso acadêmico e profissional, e da análise do figurado no contexto do quotidiano da sociedade cabo-verdiana. Uma das implicações deste estudo será a utilização dos mesmos princípios de transmissão de conhecimentos e valores vistos no figurado à comunidade escolar, no sentido de melhorar as suas práticas na educação artística no ensino em Cabo Verde. Conclui-se neste estudo, que o artista desenvolveu novas técnicas e inovações neste domínio, dando um grande contributo na promoção do artesanato da cerâmica cabo-verdiano, particularmente a cerâmica da Ilha de São Vicente. Propõe-se como sugestão para futuras investigações, novos estudos para descrição e compreensão do figurado de outros artesãos que através das suas práticas artísticas possam ter contribuído para o enriquecimento da cultura Cabo-verdiana.pt_PT
dc.description.abstractThe present study has as reference the analysis of the ceramic of São Vicente Island and to demonstrate all the operative processes of its production, having as case study the figurative of the artisan Jorge Soares. The problem of the study is based on the low valuation of handicrafts in Cape Verdean society caused by the lack of dissemination and promotion of the works of artisans, which can be addressed through means of transmitting knowledge and values in school communities. as is the case of the Art Education discipline. In conducting the study, we used a qualitative methodology, based on the use of the Case Study method, with the support for data collection and analysis instruments such as field observation, interviews and audiovisual records, which allowed obtain a more detailed analysis and evaluation of the figurative of the artist under study. The results of this investigation describe the actions of the artisan under study during the process of making ceramic pieces, his academic and professional career, and the analysis of figuration in the everyday context of Cape Verdean society. One of the implications of this study will be the use of the same principles of transmitting knowledge and values seen figuratively to the school community, in order to improve their practices in artistic education in teaching in Cape Verde. It is concluded in this study that the artist has developed new techniques and innovations in this field, making a great contribution in promoting Cape Verdean pottery crafts, particularly the pottery of São Vicente Island. It is proposed as a suggestion for future investigations, further studies to describe and understand the figurative of other artisans who through their artistic practices may have contributed to the enrichment of Cape Verdean culture.pt_PT
