Reduzir o plástico é divertido: uma proposta didática com alunos do 1.º ano de escolaridade

Abstract

O presente estudo realizou-se no âmbito da unidade curricular de Prática de Ensino Supervisionada (PES), envolvendo uma turma do 1.ºano de escolaridade. Após a observação de vários comportamentos dos alunos, principalmente nos lanches escolares, foi possível perceber que estes utilizavam muito plástico desnecessariamente e apresentavam falta de conhecimento para realizar a separação dos resíduos. Assim, pretendeu-se desenvolver uma ação pedagógica que permitisse dar a conhecer aos alunos a origem do plástico, os problemas associados ao seu consumo excessivo, estratégias para contribuir para a redução do consumo entre outras atividades que implicasse um melhoramento das atitudes vindo das crianças. A metodologia escolhida foi predominantemente qualitativa tendo os dados sido recolhidos através de: observação participante; questionários; registos áudio e trabalhos elaborados pelos alunos. Os dados recolhidos revelaram que, no início do estudo, uma grande percentagem de alunos (e as suas famílias) não realizavam a separação dos resíduos, apresentavam dificuldades na realização de atividades sobre a separação quando lhes era pedido, não identificavam o contentor do lixo comum e não identificavam a presença de plásticos ou micro plásticos em objetos do dia a dia. Os alunos envolveram-se em todas as atividades propostas verificando-se, através das observações e da análise dos trabalhos que elaboraram, um aumento dos conhecimentos sobre os efeitos nocivos do plástico na saúde dos ecossistemas e na saúde humana. Ao longo da investigação foi notória a redução da utilização do plástico pela parte dos alunos principalmente nos lanches. Os resultados desta investigação permitem concluir que é essencial continuar a desenvolver estratégias para promover a discussão destes temas, uma vez que os alunos mostraram bastante entusiasmo no desenvolvimento das atividades e apresentaram mudança a nível comportamental relativamente ao uso excessivo e desnecessário do plástico.

This study was conducted within the scope of the Supervised Teaching Practice (PES) course, involving a class of the first year of schooling. After an osbervation of many students behaviors, mainly at school snacks, it was possible to understand that they used a lot of plastic unnecessarily and lacked knowledge to perform waste separation. So, it was intended to develop a pedagogical action that would make known to students the origin of plastic, the problems associated with its excessive consumption, strategies to contribute to the reduction of the consumption between others activities that implied an improvement of the attitudes coming from the children. The chosen methodology was predominantly qualitative and the data were collected through: participant observation, quizzes, audio records and works elaborated by the students. The data collected reveal that, that in the beginning, a large percentage of students (and their families) didn’t perform a waste separation and had difficulties in the realization of activities about a separation when it was asked, they didn’t indificate the container of the common garbage and didn’t indificate the presence of plastic or micro plastics in everyday objects. The students were involved in all the proposed activities checking, through the observations and the analysis of the works that elaborated, an increase of knowledge about harmful effects of plastic on ecosystem health and human health. Throughout the investigation it was noticeable the reduction of the use of plastic by the students mainly in the snacks. The results of this research allow us to conclude that it is essential to continue to develop strategies to promote the discussion of these themes, once the students showed a lot of enthusiasm in the development of the activities and presented change in the behavioral level regarding the excessive and unnecessary use of plastic.
