A censura e a importância da(s) liberdade(s): entre a História e a Cidadania Global

Abstract

O presente relatório apresenta o percurso pedagógico realizado durante a intervenção em contexto educativo, fazendo o enquadramento das intervenções realizadas no 1º ciclo e no 2º ciclo do Ensino Básico e dando ênfase ao estudo realizado na disciplina de História e Geografia de Portugal, numa turma do 6º ano de escolaridade, no âmbito da disciplina de Prática de Ensino Supervisionado II. Tendo como objetivo participar numa educação para o desenvolvimento, o professor deve assumir-se como um investigador social, aprendendo a interpretar o mundo conceptual dos alunos, ajudando-os a modificá-lo positivamente. Assim sendo, a presente investigação teve como principal objetivo promover nos alunos uma reflexão sobre a importância das liberdades individuais e coletivas, tendo como base o estudo da utilização da censura no Estado Novo, incitando-os a construir os seus próprios conhecimentos e, consequentemente, tornarem-se cidadãos mais conscientes e justos. Para orientar o estudo foi definida uma questão de investigação: “De que forma a utilização da Censura enquanto instrumento repressivo, utilizado pelo Estado Novo, nos faz refletir pedagogicamente sobre a importância da liberdade?”, que foi desdobrada em três questões de forma a facilitar a sua interpretação e exploração. Neste enquadramento, foi desenvolvido um conjunto de tarefas com os alunos, de forma a obter respostas para a questão apresentada, com base numa metodologia que apresenta um enfoque qualitativo e que está relacionada com o paradigma de natureza interpretativo ou construtivista, correspondendo a uma Aula-Oficina. Recorrendo a técnicas de recolha de dados como o inquérito por questionário impresso, a observação direta e participante e a análise documental, nomeadamente os registos produzidos pelos alunos, os resultados obtidos permitem-nos concluir que a abordagem da temática da “censura” e a sua prática no período do Estado Novo, permitiu aos alunos ter consciência da importância das liberdades individuais e a sua garantia e ainda refletir sobre o passado de forma a compreender o presente e intervir no futuro enquanto cidadãos.

This report presents the pedagogical path taken during the intervention in an educational context, framing the interventions carried out in the 1st cycle and the 2nd cycle of Basic Education and emphasizing the study carried out in the discipline of History and Geography of Portugal, in a class of the 6th grade, under the discipline Supervised Teaching Practice II. With the objective of participating in education for development, the teacher must assume himself as a social researcher, learning to interpret the conceptual world of students, helping them to modify it positively. Therefore, the present investigation had as main objective to promote in the students a reflection on the importance of individual and collective freedoms, based on the study of the use of censorship in the Estado Novo, encouraging them to build their own knowledge and, consequently, become more aware and fair citizens. To guide the study, a research question was defined: “How does the use of censorship as a repressive instrument, used by the Estado Novo, make us reflect pedagogically on the importance of freedom?”, which was divided into three questions to facilitate its interpretation and exploitation. In this context, a set of tasks was developed with the students in order to obtain answers to the question presented, based on a methodology that presents a qualitative focus and that is related to the paradigm of an interpretative or constructivist nature, corresponding to a Workshop. Using data collection techniques such as the printed survey, direct and participative observation, and documentary analysis, namely the records produced by the students, the results obtained allow us to conclude that the approach to the theme of “censorship” and its practice during the Estado Novo period, allowed students to be aware of the importance of individual freedom and their guarantee and also reflect on the past in order to understand the present and intervene in the future as citizens.
