Efeito da monda de frutos na qualidade e produtividade de quatro cultivares de tomate (Solanum lycopersicum L.) em estufa

Abstract

Numa experiência em estufa, localizada na freguesia de Chafé, concelho de Viana do Castelo, realizou-se um ensaio para avaliar a produção de tomate cacho em substrato que inclui dois fatores: (i) cultivar (Bigran, Vayana, Tirrénico e Soberbo) e (ii) tipo de monda: monda a 5 frutos por cacho (M5) e monda a 6 frutos (M6) por cacho. Foram determinados vários parâmetros: do desenvolvimento da cultura (tempo de floração, tempo de vingamento, tempo de maturação e duração do ciclo cultural), da produtividade da cultura (produtividade total e comercial, peso médio dos cachos e dos frutos e calibre dos frutos) e os da qualidade dos frutos (pH, teor de sólidos soluveis, consistência, cor e acidez titulável). Os parâmetros do desenvolvimento da cultura variaram de acordo com a cultivar utilizada sendo a cultivar Bigan a mais precoce e a cultivar Vayana a que apresentou um tempo de floração e de vingamento mais longo. Em relação os parâmetros produtividade, não se verificaram diferenças significativas entre as produtividades das cultivares nos dois tipos de monda em estudo. Nas cultivares Bigran (CB), Vayana (CV), Tirrénico (CT) e Soberbo (CS) a percentagem dos frutos de defeito foi superior na monda M6 em relação à monda M5. Salvo raras exceções, o peso médio dos frutos da monda M5 foi superior ao peso médio dos frutos da monda M6. Também uma monda mais intensiva (M5) resultou em frutos com maior calibre em detrimento da monda M6. Quanto aos parâmetros de qualidade dos frutos, o tipo de monda utlizado não influenciou as características dos frutos.

In an experiment in a greenhouse, located in the parish of Chafé, municipality of Viana do Castelo, an experiment was carried out to evaluate the production of bunch tomatoes in a substrate that includes two factors: (i) cultivar (Bigran, Vayana, Tirrénico and Soberbo) and (ii) type of thinning: thinning at 5 fruits per bunch (M5) and thinning at 6 fruits per bunch (M6). Several parameters were determined: crop development (flowering time, setting time, maturation time and duration of the cultural cycle), crop productivity (total and commercial productivity, average weight of bunches and fruits and fruit size) and fruit quality (pH, soluble solids content, consistency, color and titratable acidity). The parameters of the development of the culture varied according to the cultivar used, being the cultivar Bigan the most precocious and the cultivar Vayana the one that presented a longer flowering and setting time. Regarding the yield parameters, there were no significant differences between the yields of the cultivars in the two types of weeding under study. In the Bigran (CB), Vayana (CV), Tirrénico (CT) and Soberbo (CS) cultivars, the percentage of defect fruits was higher in the M6 weeding compared to the M5 weeding. With few exceptions, the average weight of the fruits of the M5 weed was higher than the average weight of the fruits of the M6 weed. Also a more intensive weeding (M5) resulted in fruits with larger caliber to the detriment of the M6 weeding. As for the parameters of fruit quality, the type of weeding used did not influence the characteristics of the fruits.
