The present study asked a group of urban and rural actors about the nature, similarity and differences of perspectives, interests and capacities on urban-rural cooperation activities for innovation and sustainable development. For this purpose, online surveys were carried out in two rounds using a structured survey method and a quantitative analysis of similarity and principal components was carried out, as well as a qualitative assessment of the suggestions and descriptive opinions indicated by the respondents. The panel was made up of actors, mostly between 40 and 50 years old, with high school education, gender balance, and territorial (rural and urban), with leadership roles in public and private entities. The results indicated the importance of the critical dimension of population loss in the viability of rural spaces, the relevance of public policies in attracting and retaining people, as well as companies, as well as the need to evaluate, value and promote ecosystem services in spaces rural. Overall, the importance given to organic production models and forms of sustainable production is underlined. The processes and these results showed interest in improving, experimenting and transferring this evaluation model, as well as defining a set of policies, strategies and activities that allow interaction between urban and rural actors in order to improve communication, negotiation and preparation of initiatives of mutual interest.pt_PT
