Abstract: | Os Desportos Natureza e Aventura (DNA) e mais concretamente o trail running
A crescente procura desta
Objetivos: Os objetivos do presente
Sports Nature and more specifically trail running as a sport have been developing in the current society, this growth should be supported on a scientific basis. The increasing demand for this modality led to an increase in the number of races, accompanied by the increase of practitioners, which provoked our interest in the training methodology used by these practitioners. Objectives: The objectives of the present study were to evaluate the athletes' training and races load and estimate their well-being comparing internal and external loads with wellness. Methods: The data collection was made during the month of November of 2017 because there is still races of the national championship of trail running in Portugal. The study included 47 athletes competing in the national trail championships in Portugal. During a four-week competitive mesocycle, the perception of well-being (Hooper's questionnaire), training and test time, distance traveled and a subjective perception of effort (RPE) were monitored. The athletes were also subjected to the Cooper test to estimate the maximum volume of oxygen (VO2max). Results: The results revealed no significant differences in wellness variables during the four microcycles. Similar results were obtained in the training load, where no changes in the training loads between the microcycles. Concerning the load per training session, no significant differences were found, and the same was observed in wellness variables. Conclusions: The VO2max correlated with the frequency of the run, suggests that the results of maximal oxygen consumption increase with performance improvements in trail running athletes, when considerate the speed of movement in the race. |
