Abstract: | O presente relatório descreve um estudo que seria concretizado no decorrer do ano
pré-escolar e outra no 1.º CEB.
This internship report describes a study that was realized during the 2019/2020 academic year, within the scope of the Supervised Teaching Practice (STP) curricular unit, integrated in the Master's Degree in Pre-School Education and the Teaching of the 1st Cycle of Basic Education. It begins with a framework of two educational interventions, being one in preschool and the other in the 1st Cycle of Basic Education (1.º CBE). Then, there is a reference to the study that integrates a pedagogical proposal carried out on the theme of mathematics and sustainability. The proposal focused on the theme of the importance of mathematics in Education for Sustainability, since our purpose was that the students, after solving a set of tasks, discussed, and reflected on the results, became aware of the environmental impact of some of their own choices (and their families), more specifically in relation to the materials used to wrap the snacks. After this reflection, it was also intended that, in a large group, more sustainable solutions and strategies were found to sensitize the school community to use them. Therefore, two guiding questions were defined for this study: Q1) What is the contribution of mathematical tasks to the development of students’ critical thinking about the need to change habits and find more sustainable alternatives? Q2) How to make 4th grade students aware of the need to change practices related to wrapping snacks, to minimize environmental impact? What suggestions do students have for change? Due to the Sars-CoV-2 pandemic and the confinement, the study was not carried out with 4th grade students. In this study a qualitative methodology followed by the action-research method would be used. The data would be collected through observations, conversations and documents, more specifically through the resolutions of the proposed tasks, discussions and reflections. This report ends with a global reflection on the path taken. |
