Propostas de desenvolvimento para um Centro Interpretativo

Abstract

O presente tem como principal objetivo desenvolver uma proposta para o desenvolvimento do Centro Interpretativo do Caminho Português da Costa. Vai se, então, recorrer às potencialidades desse espaço e assim contribuir para a valorização dos Caminhos de Santiago em geral, e do Caminho Português do Norte em particular, como uma destacada marca do turismo regional. É também objetivo analisar e potenciar as oportunidades que o Caminho da Costa e o Centro Interpretativo representam na dinamização das atividades de pedestrianismo. Esta ligação é tão mais pertinente no momento atual de pandemia, em que as atividades ao ar livre em espiritualidade surgem reforçadas, e aliadas. Para tal, realizou-se, em primeiro lugar, o enquadramento das peregrinações a Santiago, descrevendo a sua história e evolução, além da descrição dos vários caminhos existentes. Seguindo o paradigma qualitativo, e através da análise do conteúdo e da informação disponibilizada pelos diferentes websites, realizou-se uma análise comparativa entre os vários Centros Interpretativos dos outros Caminhos de Santiago, e o Caminho Português da Costa, de forma a perceber as suas principais diferenças e semelhanças, e assim, propor ações para estimular este Centro. Os resultados obtidos permitiram traçar quatro importantes ações para o desenvolvimento do Centro em causa: 1) Abertura do Bar do Peregrino; 2) degustação de pratos típicos dos municípios por onde o caminho passa, 3) reforço da componente interpretativa, através de exposição permanente sobre os peregrinos da Idade Média de Viana do Castelo e por fim 4) a oportunidade de desenvolvimento de atividades de pedestrianismo em conjunto, e em articulação com a Rede Municipal de Percursos Pedestres de Viana do Castelo. Este trabalho pretende, deste modo, contribuir para que o Centro Interpretativo se afirme como um espaço de referência, não só para os peregrinos, mas também para a prática de atividades de pedestrianismo.

The present dissertation has as its main goal to develop a proposal for the development of the Interpretive Center of the Portuguese Way of the Coast. It will then make use of the potentialities of this space and thus contribute to the valorization of the Ways of St. James in general, and the Portuguese Way of the North in particular, as an outstanding mark of regional tourism. It is also an objective to analyze and enhance the opportunities that the Camino da Costa and the Interpretative Center represent in the dynamization of hiking activities. This connection is more pertinent in the current pandemic moment, in which outdoor activities in spirituality are reinforced, and allied. To this end, first, the Santiago pilgrimages were framed, describing their history and evolution, in addition to the description of the various existing paths. Following the qualitative paradigm, and through the analysis of the content and the information made available by the different websites, a comparative analysis was made between the several Interpretative Centers of the other Ways of St. James, and the Portuguese Way of Saint James of the Coast, to understand their main differences and similarities, and thus, propose actions to stimulate this Center. The results obtained allowed to outline four important actions for the development of this Centre: 1) the opening of the Pilgrim's Bar; 2) the tasting of typical dishes of the municipalities through which the Way passes, 3) the reinforcement of the interpretative component, through a permanent exhibition about the pilgrims of the Middle Ages in Viana do Castelo and finally 4) the opportunity to develop walking activities together, and in articulation with the Municipal Walking Trails Network of Viana do Castelo. This work intends, therefore, to contribute to the Interpretive Centre's affirmation as a reference space, not only for pilgrims, but also for the practice of hiking activities
