etária e a nível cultural e linguístico.
elaboradas e implementadas nove atividades.
associados a essas caraterísticas.
This report was developed in the scope of the curricular unit of Supervised Teaching Practice (STP) of the master’s degree in Pre-school Education and Teaching in the 1st Cycle of Basic Schooling of the Escola Superior de Educação de Viana do Castelo. On the other hand, this report is divided into three chapters, namely the STP context, the research work, and finally, the reflection on the STP. The research work is entitled "Diversity Approach in Pre-school as an Inclusion Strategy" and aims to promote a reflection on the issues of diversity and inclusion in Pre- School Education. In this context, a study was developed with a group of 21 pre-school children from a kindergarten in the region of Viana do Castelo, which presented great cultural, linguistic and age diversity. In order to identify what "being different" means to a group of pre-school children and promote diversity as an enrichment, the following research questions were formulated: "What does it mean for a group of pre-school children to be different? What are the characteristics that children consider to be different?" This is a qualitative, interpretive, and descriptive study with a case study design. Data collection was carried out through observation, audio-visual recordings, conversations with children, drawings, and a logbook. It should be noted that nine activities were designed and implemented. The results allowed us to conclude that the children were able to identify specific and common characteristics, understanding that all of them were similar in some aspects and different in others, without revealing stereotypes or prejudices associated with those characteristics. Throughout the activities, they demonstrated an ability to look at diversity as a way of getting to know themselves better. |
