Resumo: Recent developments in microbolometer array technology have favored the spread of low-cost infrared cameras and their dissemination in different application domains, in particular, regarding medical applications. According to the World Health Organization, elevated body temperature is one of the most common indicators of an abnormal medical condition. Indeed, body temperature monitoring is paramount, particularly in pandemic scenarios like the world is living in since late 2019. In this context, we aim to develop a body temperature screening system using a low-cost infrared thermography system designed to be used in nursing homes. Towards our goal, this work presents the assessment procedure and the results obtained when comparing the performance of two low-cost infrared cameras with a more expensive flagship device.
