Design de um serviço de mesa de cerâmica : um projeto inspirado no Lobo Ibérico

Abstract

A presente investigação surgiu da intenção de contribuir com o design de produtos para a sustentabilidade económica das associações portuguesas de defesa do lobo-ibérico. Desta forma, foi desenvolvido um conjunto de peças para um serviço de mesa inspirado nesta espécie que no futuro poderão ser comercializadas e gerar receitas para essas associações. Paralelamente, pretende-se alertar a sociedade para a necessidade de ajudar as associações e consequentemente a espécie em estudo. Neste projeto foram desenvolvidos produtos de cerâmica que resultaram da capacidade de se transformar o conhecimento e características do lobo-ibérico em peças em que se reconhecem algumas características distintivas desta espécie. O processo criativo de ligação entre âmbitos produtivos distintos carateriza o projeto e compromete o designer a contribuir para a sua sobrevivência. Em termos metodológicos, esta investigação fundamentou-se numa metodologia mista, não intervencionista e intervencionista. Na fase não intervencionista, o trabalho assentou na revisão bibliográfica, identificação de conceitos teóricos, estudo do Lobo-ibérico, bem como na construção de casos de estudo que fundamentam a temática. Na fase intervencionista desenvolveu-se uma investigação ativa, com trabalho de campo e uma fase de experimentação que revestiu o processo mais criativo. A validação dos resultados foi alcançada por meio de entrevistas. Na fase final, foram fabricados os protótipos e avaliadas por inquérito, as suas características mais distintivas. Com a presente investigação pretendeu-se demonstrar a importância da ligação entre a rede de entidades relacionadas com a preservação e o estudo do lobo-ibérico, a investigação, a criatividade e a produção de artefactos cerâmicos. Este projeto deu origem a novos produtos, fruto da experimentação e da prática do design de produtos.

The present investigation arose from the intention of contributing to the design of products for the economic sustainability of the Portuguese associations for the defense of the Iberian wolf. In this way, a set of pieces for a table service inspired by this species was developed, which in the future could be commercialized and generate income for these associations. At the same time, it is intended to alert society to the need to help associations and consequently the species under study. In this project, ceramic products were developed that resulted from the ability to transform the knowledge and characteristics of the Iberian wolf into pieces in which some of the distinctive characteristics of this species are recognized. The creative process of linking different productive areas characterizes the project and commits the designer to contributing to its survival. In methodological terms, this investigation was based on a mixed methodology, non-interventionist and interventionist. In the non-interventionist phase, the work was based on the bibliographic review, identification of theoretical concepts, study of the Iberian wolf, as well as the construction of case studies that underlie the theme. In the interventionist phase, an active investigation was developed, with field work and an experimentation phase that covered the most creative process. The validation of the results was achieved through interviews. In the final phase, the prototypes were manufactured and their most distinctive characteristics evaluated by survey. The aim of this investigation was to demonstrate the importance of the connection between the network of entities related to the preservation and study of the Iberian wolf, research, creativity and the production of ceramic artefacts. This project gave rise to new products as a result of experimentation and product design practice.
